Five Kalshi award books turned $564,000 in the last twenty-four hours. In every one of them, the deepest contract of the day is a longshot, and in four of the five the favorite barely traded at all.

Heisman. Keelon Russell at 3% took $88,797 and Jeremiah Smith at 6% took $88,216—together 59% of a $298,491 book. Darian Mensah, the 8% favorite, took $9,512.

NFL MVP. Baker Mayfield at 2% took $30,386, the deepest leg in a $182,570 book—more than Patrick Mahomes (7%) and Joe Burrow (10%) took combined. And Tyler Shough, also at 2%, holds $858,469 of open interest, the largest position in a forty-five name field, ahead of Dak Prescott's $508,030.

NL Rookie of the Year. Nolan McLean at 5% took $28,194, nine times what the 52% favorite JJ Wetherholt took.

NBA MVP. Victor Wembanyama is the 32% favorite and took $45. Anthony Edwards at 6% took $1,963.

One caution before reading any of these as probabilities: Kalshi's award books carry heavy overrounds. NBA MVP sums to 153%, NFL MVP to 137%, Coach of the Year to 137%, NL ROY to 136%. Only the Heisman, at 111%, is close to coherent.

The two deepest award books on the platform. The Heisman's thirty legs sum to 111%; NFL MVP's forty-five sum to 137%.

The Heisman's two deepest legs, priced at 3% and 6%, which between them absorbed $177,013—59% of the book. Neither is the favorite; Darian Mensah at 8% took $9,512.

The NFL MVP book's two 2% quarterbacks. Mayfield took $30,386 in a day, the most in the book. Shough holds $858,469 of open interest, also the most in the book. Two different traders, two different time horizons, same price.

Basketball and baseball, where the pattern is starkest.

The NBA MVP book sums to 153% across fifty-three names—the most inflated award ladder on the exchange—and its 32% favorite traded $45 today. Manifold prices Wembanyama at 32.1%, matching Kalshi almost exactly despite the overround.

The NL Rookie of the Year book has JJ Wetherholt at 52% and Nolan McLean at 5%, and McLean took nine times the volume.

The NL Rookie book's favorite next to the leg that outtraded it nine to one. Wetherholt 52%, $3,051. McLean 5%, $28,194.

  • Read the overround before reading the price. A 32% NBA MVP quote inside a book that sums to 153% is not a 32% probability. Divide through: Wembanyama's coherent price is closer to 21%. The Heisman at 111% is the only book here you can read straight.
  • Tyler Shough's $858,469 is the largest single position in any award book on the exchange, and it sits on a 2% leg. Whatever thesis built it has not moved the price.
  • Two Heisman legs took 59% of the book in one day. Keelon Russell at 3% and Jeremiah Smith at 6% are pre-season narrative picks, not the market's favorite. Watch whether their prices follow the volume once the season starts.
  • The NBA MVP book is functionally untraded at $5,615 across fifty-three names. It exists, it is priced, and it should not be treated as a live signal until the season opens.
  • Baker Mayfield outtrading Mahomes and Burrow combined is the cleanest single expression of the pattern on this page: real money, real book, and it is all going to the tail.
